Big crowd sees Santa switch on Barnard Castle tree lights

SCORES of people turned out for the switching on of Barnard Castle’s festive display on Friday night.
Youngsters Edie Shippey and Albie Thompson were on hand to help Santa Claus press the plunger that fired up the magical display, including the main Christmas tree sponsored by Raby Estate. Singers from the community choir No Added Sugar entertained with carols and festive tunes while people browsed the variety of stalls at Scar Top.
