Bellisimo! Lunch club serves up an Italian treat for diners

TUCKING: Organiser Debbie Herbert and restaurant owner Kamal Ally share a word as Startforth Lunch Club members enjoy an Italian meal

MEMBERS of a dale lunch club enjoyed a change of scenery and a new menu during their latest get together.

Startforth Lunch Club, which usually meets in the village’s community centre, crossed the County Bridge to enjoy their weekly meal at the newly opened Capri restaurant in Barnard Castle.

The lunch club sponsored a portion of the cost of the members’ meals.

Organiser Debbie Herbert said: “It’s a day out so our chef Barbara Thompson can have a day off. The town needs places like Capri so it is good to support them too.”

Almost 50 people turned out for the three course Italian meal.
