Become a Weekend Warrior to improve your health and fitness

NEW GROUP: Katey Wallace launched the Weekend Warriors group in Woodland after giving birth to daughter Maggie

A WEEKLY fitness group set up by a new mum as a way to get back into shape is taking off in Woodland.

More than 20 people have signed up to the Weekend Warriors group’s Saturday morning sessions.

The group has been launched by Katey Wallace who recently gave birth to her daughter Maggie.

Ms Wallace said: “I set it up for new mums because there are no exercise classes for mums near here, and a lot of older people have joined, which is nice. The class is for all ages and all abilities. People can do as much as they can do. Mostly it is just about keeping moving.”

Sessions focus on cardio, core strength, toning and weights.

By signing up, people also have access to weight-loss challenges, online fitness classes, recipes and inspiration.

Ages of those involved now range from 16 to 70.

The group meets between 9am and 10am every Saturday at Woodland Village Hall.
