Barney WI enjoy Italian Christmas lunch

ALL SEATED: Barnard Castle WI's festive party

Barnard Castle WI

SOME 25 members met on December 16 for the Christmas party and meal at Capri Italian restaurant, in Barnard Castle.

We were made extremely welcome by Kamal and all the staff and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the varied menu. As usual we shared a Secret Santa with members bringing a wrapped gift. After the meal president Naila Laundy welcomed Martin White – a local singer – who entertained us wonderfully with his songs from the 50s and 60s and plenty of laughs.

Never has so much live music, dancing and laughter been heard or seen in Capri before or since but it was a fabulous night and a great end to the year for all the ladies in Barnard Castle WI.

Naila thanked Martin, Kamal and all the staff for a superb night and wished all the members a very happy Christmas.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, January 27, at 7pm in The Guide Hut when it will be eyes down for a night of bingo.

New members and visitors are always welcome. Contact Naila on 07999 957898 or Sheila on 01325 733228 for more information.
