STEPPING OUT: Teesdale's Black Sheep Morris side entertains in Barnard Castle town centre

IT'S a day of traditional dance in Barnard Castle today (Saturday).

The dale's Black Sheep Morris side is hosting its day of dance, held every two years, and this time, longsword teams from local primary schools are joining in.

The event kicked off with all eight morris sides going through their paces on the performance area outside Woodleigh, on Scar Top.

Teams then put on displays outside the entrance to the castle and in the town centre before later moving on to The Bowes Museum.
