Barnard Castle 1940s weekend – shop window competition

WONDERFUL WINDOW: Sharon Walker

UNFURL the flags, tape up the windows and don a dandy 1940s-style costume is the rallying cry from the organisers of Barnard Castle 1940s Weekend to the town’s shops and businesses.

For the third year Barnard Castle will turn back the clock to the 1940s on June 22 to June 24 and the town council is encouraging businesses to enter the spirit of the event by entering the window display competition.

The winner of the competition will receive a free write-uo about their business in the Teesdale Mercury and a trophy sponsored by the Morritt Arms.

Window displays need to be ready for judging by Friday June 22.

To register your premises, phone 01833 690970, email [email protected] or call into the offices at Woodleigh.
