THE efforts of two members of staff at a Barnard Castle care home have been recognised in an awards scheme.
Paula Davis and Rebecca Frew received Kindness in Care awards from HC-One, the company which runs the Beaconsfield Court home.
Colleagues nominated Ms Davis for an award for consistently showing kindness to every resident, visitor and fellow staff member.
She also continuously volunteers to go on trips with the residents and always has a smile for everyone.
Ms Frew was nominated for her award due to the kind care she shows everyone at Beaconsfield Court and for always volunteering to go on days out, ensuring that as many residents can enjoy the experience as possible.
Beaconsfield Court’s home manager, Laura Langridge, said: “Paula and Rebecca always goes the extra mile for everyone and we wanted to nominate them for this award as we felt it was the best way to honour everything that they do for our residents, visitors and colleagues.”
HC-One managing director Stephen Butterworth, added: “The Kindness in Care Awards programme is about recognising and celebrating colleagues who demonstrate the kindest care and the best practice that we can all learn from.
“Each and every day, staff do incredible work, and make such a difference to the lives of residents living in our homes. It is great to work with such inspirational, caring and kind people.”
The company says it consistently invests in staff and is currently achieving a 9.5/10 average rating on the sector’s leading care home comparison website carehome.co.uk, with Beaconsfield Court itself achieving an impressive 9.7 rating.
The awards programme was launched by HC-One in October 2013. It recognises the efforts of their kindest colleagues and the impact they have on the lives of residents and their loved ones.
