Author inspires Middleton-in-Teesdale primary pupils

THE BIG DRAW: Oscar Mills

PUPILS at a Teesdale School were treated to an entertaining day with an author and illustrator to encourage them to be more creative.

Children at Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary School enjoyed sessions with Darlington-based author and illustrator Liz Million. All classes in the school took part in the workshops, which were tailored to the subjects pupils are covering in classes.

The workshops were funded by money raised by The Friends of Middleton School and an anonymous benefactor.

Vicky Oliver, English leader at Middleton school, said: “We’re hoping to inspire a love of books and reading and just to be more creative.”

Ms Million, who has written and illustrated 12 children’s books, kept pupils captivated with stories of oceans and rainforests while others were encouraged to be creative making posters.
