Air ambulance drama in Barnard Castle

DRAMA: The air ambulance takes off from Scar Top

MEDICS from the Great North Air Ambulance landed on Scar Top in Barnard Castle this evening (Sunday) following an accident involving a motorcycle in the town centre.

The air ambulance, from Teesside Airport, landed at just after 6.30pm after emergency services were alerted to the incident in Galgate.

Police and a North East Ambulance Service crew also attended the scene.

One casualty was taken by road ambulance from the scene of the accident the short distance to Scar Top where he was transferred onto the air ambulance and flown to hospital.
