Barnard Castle Cricket Club’s Matthew Thornton has been selected to represent Durham in the U14 Super 4 Panthers squad.
The Durham Super 4 programme sits just below county age-group level and provides an opportunity for players from across the region to gain further experience and continue their development in the game.
A spokesman for Barnard Castle CC said: “Everyone at the club congratulates Matthew on his selection and wishes him well for the upcoming season.”
Matthew has been a regular in Barnard Castle’s junior teams and his selection reflects his commitment and steady progress over recent seasons.
He joins a number of other age-group players from the club who are involved in the Super 4 programme, underlining the strength of Barnard Castle’s youth section.
