AT Barnard Castle Auction Mart’s annual show and sale of hoggs and lambs, which took place alongside a sale of ewes and lambs, judge Bob Richmond, Leeds, gave the following awards:

Continental hoggs & lambs: 1, D Humble & J Gibson, Allergill £225; 2, D Bell, Warden Hill Cottage £230; 3, S Richardson, High Park Wall £210.
Suffolk hoggs & lambs: 1&2, S Plumb, West End, Ingleton £221 & £220.
