MORNING showers cleared to allow for a successful day at Langdon Beck Show.

John White and his family dominated the open male categories taking top spot for aged ram, tup shearling and tup lamb.

In the industrial section Michael Hedley took the most points for his flowers and vegetables, and also took the best in show award for flowers and vegetables.

Chris Redford and Eva Armit earned the most points in the local category in the same class, while Richard Laidler took the best in show title in the photography class.

Show chairman Neville Bainbridge said the number of entries in this year’s show were slightly down on previous years because many farmers were catching up with a harvesting because of the late summer.

Despite that entries came from a wide area including Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire.
