Duo donate trophy to Staindrop YFC

WINNER: Joe Richardson was the first recipient of the Members' Member of the Year trophy

Staindrop YFC

MARK Harding and Chris Dobinson both joined Staindrop YFC in 2002 and have since been active members of the club.

During their time within Young Farmers, they have chaired the club to great success and have represented the club and county at higher levels multiple times.

Both Chris and Mark decided to donate a trophy to the club to mark their involvement during the last 18 years.

They said: “We felt we needed to give something back to the club after everything that the club have given us over the years, so we thought a trophy would last for many years to come to remind the club of us both.”

They decided to call it the “Members’ Member of the Year Trophy” .

The winner of the trophy will be chosen by the members every year at the annual meeting.

Each member is asked to write down the name of the person they feel has stood out the most in the year and the overall winner is the member with the most votes.

In December, Chris and Mark attended the Staindrop YFC annual meeting to unveil the new trophy and to take part in the first vote.

The winner was Joe Richardson. Joe was presented with the trophy by Chris and Mark at the annual Christmas meal at The Jersey Farm Hotel.

Joe has been an active member of the club since he first joined.

He is always willing to take part in club, county and national competitions and he has a great eye for stockjudging.

He is a great junior member of the club and the win was very much deserved.

Chris and Mark will both continue to support the club in many ways as club leaders.

As a club, we would like to thank Chris and Mark for their very kind donation and for all the help they offer to the club.
