Calendar in aid of farming charity shows off best of the dale

Anne Scott and Emma Spry with the new calendar and greeting cards available from Utass

A LIMITED edition calendar and greetings cards have gone on sale to mark the 25th anniversary of Utass (Upper Teesdale Agricultural Support Services).

The farming charity, based in Middleton-in-Teesdale, has become well known for its annual calendar which boasts an outstanding collection of photographs donated by members.

Among the pictures featured this year is a dramatic photograph of a horse in a snowfield by Barnard Castle camera enthusiast Karen Ackers.

Utass worker Emma Spry, who organises the annual calendar, said: “We have had a few new members sending in photographs which is wonderful.”

Only 400 calendars were printed this year with a good number already sold at Durham Shopping Extravaganza where Utass manned a Christmas stall over two days.

People interested on buying a calendar or greeting cards can visit the Utass office, in Chapel Row, before it closes for Christmas on Friday, December 21.

Mrs Spry said the greetings cards are almost sold out and new sponsors are needed to have more printed.

Businesses interested in supporting the greetings cards can contact Mrs Spry at Utass on 01833 641010.
