Students look to the future at careers fair

CAREERING AHEAD: Event organiser Lisa Johnstone with Neil Williams

MORE than 400 students from Teesdale School and Sixth Form attended a careers fair which was organised and held at the TCR Hub in Barnard Castle.

The fair, titled The Face Project, was part funded by a grant from Teesdale Action Partnership and welcomed representatives from a variety of local colleges, the RAF, Army, NHS as well as GlaxoSmithKline and YMCA.

It primarily looked at careers in IT and finance and the range of opportunities as careers.

Lisa Johnstone, who managed the event, was delighted with the range of companies and colleges who attended the event.

She said: “It was a great chance to find out about all sorts of career in the same place.”

Students from all years, apart from year seven, attended for an hour and chatted with representatives from a variety of industries. Music teachers also held workshops and explained the use of technology in differing fields.
