THE Barnard Castle branch of Darlington Building Society celebrated its new look by welcoming customers and members of the public with cakes and balloons.
And to make sure nobody missed the occasion, the branch enlisted the help of town crier Ian Kirkbride to spread the word.
The ribbon cutting was performed by Teesdale Lions Club president Bob Garton, alongside members of the Darlington Building Society team and chief executive officer Andrew Craddock.
The Barnard Castle branch of Darlington Building Society, in Market Place, has undergone a facelift inside and out, including a total repaint as well as the addition of private consulting rooms and semi-private seating area.
Graham Walker, from Darlington Building Society, said: “The refresh is part of a wider plan of branch upgrades that the society is undertaking across the network.
“The changes that have been made are much better for our customers, allowing for more privacy and a comfortable environment when talking about our range of savings and mortgage products,” he added.
Almost £100 was raised by staff and guests for Teesdale and District Lions Club which will go to aid local individuals and organisations in the community.
