Hotel group sponsors new kit for Barney Gatorz girls’ rugby team

READY FOR ACTION: Gatorz players Mia Dowson and Tabitha Anstey with Rachel Howes of kit sponsors Classic British Hotels

CLASSIC British Hotels have become the kit sponsor for Barnard Castle U15s Girls’ Gatorz Rugby team.

Rachel Howes, a director of Classic British and originally from Barnard Castle, has been watching her nieces play in the Gatorz in recent seasons and said: “Having one of our hotels, the Morritt Arms, near Barnard Castle, and me being a local girl, we could do nothing else but get involved and support this fantastic, innovative club and the talented local girls rugby team.”

Gatorz chairman Paul Davis added: “To be sponsored by a large national company is fantastic.

“The girls love the strip and are looking forward to the season ahead. I’d like to thank Rachel and Classic British for sponsoring the strip.”

Classic British is a collection of predominantly four-star luxury hotels, located throughout the UK.

The Gatorz are looking for new players for all the teams so if there are any girls or ladies interested in giving it a go, contact Paul Davis on 07740 086685 or by email [email protected].
