Community craft shop emerges from hibernation

BACK IN BUSINESS: Jane Addison re-opened her craft co-operative shop

A COMMUNITY craft shop has reopened its doors after a winter hiatus.
Goodsyard Interiors, run by Jane Addison for the past six years, has a wealth of new exhibitors offering their goods this spring and summer.
The shop, located behind The Crown at Mickleton, is a market place for creative people across the dale and further afield.
Ms Addison, who is celebrating her 70th birthday this year, said: “I look at the Goodsyard as a shop window into the arts and crafts we have in Teesdale.”
New for the spring season is a beautifully crafted collection of keepsake animals, complete with their own perfectly tailored outfits.
And although the doors to the craft co-operative have just reopened, the exquisitely fashioned animals – from Bertie badger to Sally squirrel – have already started flying off the shelves.
Other items on sale include individually designed knitted hats, picture frames, cushions, soya melts, paintings, handmade cards as well as photography by Martin Rogers.
During the year Ms Addison is also hoping to organise a few events to mark her 70th birthday.
The shop, which is located behind The Crown pub and restaurant, is open 11am until 3pm on Thursday and Friday and 11am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
