Bosses of town store decide to call it a day

END OF THE ROAD: Boho Boo will close at the end of February TM pic

A DALE high street is to lose one of its independently run shops at the end of the month with owners of a clothing store announcing its closure.

Boho Boo has been a feature of the Barnard Castle’s high street for the last eight years.

However owners Richard and Diane Kent, who ran a giftware and accessory business for 12 years prior to focusing on clothing, announced last week the shop will close on February 28.

Just under 18 months ago they moved the business from premises at 25 Market Place to their current location in Horsemarket.

Mr and Mrs Kent said: “We want to thank all of our customers for their support over the years and hope that they will understand that this has not been easy for us as we have been in business for the past 23 years.

“It is with deep regret we have made the difficult decision to close.

“This decision has come as a direct result of two major flooding incidents over the past six months which has brought our attention to the fact that the damaged roof is asbestos.

“This means it is no longer viable for us to stay in the building.

“We have been unable to find anything suitable and have therefore come to the hard decision to close our business.”
