At Your Service – You can now hot foot it to This ‘n’ That

UP AND RUNNING: Linda Pitchers

IT’S the shop where you can usually find that bit of something you need – and after initially closing when the lockdown restrictions were introduced This ‘n’ That is open again.
The shop occupies the former Clark’s shoe shop in Barnard Castle Town Centre, after moving from the smaller unit next door which had been its home for three years.
Operator Linda Pitchers said the decision to reopen was taken when she realised she had a number of items people needed.
“I had stuff like toilet rolls and anti-bacterial hand wash, masks and sanitisers – even compost as the garden centres were closed,” she said.
The shop is currently operating reduced hours, opening Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday 9am to 1pm as Ms Pitchers continues to work hard sourcing stock.
“I am finding it quite difficult to get stock. You are on the phone all the time fighting for your share – but I am a good fighter.”
