An illuminating experience for visitors to Barnard Castle pub

LIGHTING UP: Old Well landlord Roy Chatterjee is offering customers an illuminated castle wall as part of their evening out

A BARNARD Castle pub is offering its customers an illuminating experience during the coming months.

Operators of The Old Well, on The Bank, have installed displays to light up the town’s historic castle wall at the rear of the premises.

Landlord Roy Chatterjee explained: “For Valentine’s Day, it will be a red wall, for St Patrick’s day a green wall and when England are playing, the flag colours will be illuminated.

“We can also have soft lights for dinners to enjoy an evening by the wall,” he added. Other visible walls of the castle are already lit up on an evening.
