Trio perform to boost funds for popular hall

POPULAR ACT: Chris Sherburn

FOLK trio Sherburn, Bartley, Sanders will perform two shows in Reeth Memorial Hall this week.

Concertina player Chris Sherburn and guitarist Denny Bartley have been touring together since 1993, both as a duo and as members of the much missed Last Night’s Fun. Their soul-stirring songs, exhilarating tunes and quick-witted banter ensure that no two concerts are ever the same. In 2016 Chris and Denny joined forces with fiddle and viola player Emily Sanders, blending vocal harmonies and strings to underpin Chris and Denny’s unique sound, as well as providing a female lead vocal for some songs, and bringing a repertoire of English folk songs to complement the band’s more Celtic and traditional roots.

The gigs takes place on Friday and Saturday, November 22 and 23, with doors opening at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £13 in advance, £15 on the door, under 16s half price – on sale by calling 01748 884759.

Tickets are available for Friday evening but the Saturday concert is now sold out although anyone interested can contact the organisers to be put on the waiting list for returns. Profits are in support of the Memorial Hall.
