Trans-Atlantic duo come together for Barnard Castle gig

CONTRASTING STYLES: Luke Jackson and Willy Porter will play at The Witham

THERE will be a rare chance to see two contrasting musicians share the stage at The Witham.

Trans-Atlantic duo Luke Jackson and Willy Porter will perform on Friday, October 19.

Luke Jackson, a 24-year-old singer songwriter from Canterbury, is taking the acoustic world by storm with his impeccable stagecraft, fantastic voice and a song-writing style which belies his years. In 2013, he was nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for both best emerging talent and young folk category.

Joining him is Willy Porter, who hails from Wisconsin, in the USA. Willy Porter has been turning first time listeners into die-hard fans for more than two decades. Willy blurs the line between indie-folk and rock with his signature finger-picking guitar sound and high-energy live performance style.

He has shared stages with music icons Jeff Beck, Tori Amos, and Paul Simon, carving out a successful solo career as an artist who makes music that resonates long after the last guitar chord fades.

Tickets are priced £12 in advance and £14 on the door. Call 01833 631107 or head to www.thewitham.org.uk
