Tapas and live music planned at The Hub, in Barnard Castle

VENUE: The Hub

A SERIES of tapas and live music events will take place at TCR Hub community centre, in Barnard Castle.

Staff and volunteers at TCR Hub say they have been thinking of innovative ways of building on the work that they do with local children and young people.

The Hub hosts more than 500 people per week who take part in a range of activities from pottery and pilates to BMX and bass guitar.

Hub boss Rachel Tweddle said: “Many of the activities that involve children and young people are subsidised to ensure everyone can access them and this includes the music studios, outdoor activities and community transport project.

“The music studio currently has just over 60 young clients learning musical instruments and rehearsing in bands on a weekly basis.”

Ms Tweddle said that the latest events will draw in a new crowd who will be able to benefit from top quality tapas and music and also feel that they are contributing to a social cause.

The first event is Friday, October 12, at 7pm and tickets cost £15 per person.

There will be a full bar until 11pm.

She added: “We know that the community still associate the bulk of our work with children and young people and we are very proud of our heritage but we do so much for adults too.

“This is the perfect activity to run which will be spectacular for adults but also a unique way to invest in the resources available to our younger members of the community.”

Profits from the evening will go towards the upkeep of the resources in the venue, including the music studio and outdoor facilities used by many groups from across the area.

Contact TCR Hub on 01833 690150 to book.
