SWEET treats for all the family are on the menu at the TCR Hub, in Barnard castle, this Easter.
Visitors will be welcomed to a “TCR Sweetie Trail of Pure Imagination” from April 8 to 10.
There are also two virtual workshops – to create your own lollipop workshop on Monday, March 29, at 6.30pm with local artist Suzanne Williams and to make your own chocolate bar with Carly Payne, from Moment’s Cafe at 5.30pm on April 1.
The Sweetie trail is a family outdoor trail with creative scenes inspired by sweets and chocolate treats, using upcycled materials. It has been created by a talented group of artists and volunteers.
Booking is essential and a family ticket is £6 which will admit up to six members of the same family, or up to six people from two separate households.
The sessions run every 15 minutes from 10am to 3pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 8, 9 and 10 and will include a walk around the grounds as well as a sheet of challenges related to trail.
A TCR Hub mini-bus will act as reception so families will not need to enter the buildings.
School pupils are being invited to invent the most amazing sweeties or chocolate bar with the results displayed in the windows of the Hub and on the mini-bus for families to enjoy while they visit. Details are on the TCR Hub website and Facebook page.
Family activities co-ordinator Sarah Gent said: “We’re working to help make a positive difference to the lives of families living in Teesdale.
More than 500 people accessed different activities in autumn 2020, thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund.
“This included visits to our creative trails in the ground as well as dance and story sessions and virtual craft and cookery workshops.”
