Story of the Stones is brought to life by Mick Jagger soundalike

ROLLING ALONG: Paul Ashworth sings Mick Jagger in The Rolling Stones Story

THE story of one of the UK’s most enduring bands will be told in a show at Durham’s Gala Theatre on Friday, February 7.

The Rolling Stones Story will feature all the hits with Mick Jagger lookalike and star of the show Paul Ashworth leading the way.

He said: “The Stones pioneered British rock music in the 1960s and we aim to faithfully recreate the excitement of a real Stones performance. That distinct sound, Mick strutting his stuff, Keith’s Chuck Berry style rhythm guitar riffing, all complete with authentic costuming and stage set.”

When it comes to impersonating Mick Jagger, Paul is a pro, having been likened to the music legend since he was a teenager.

The Rolling Stones Story aims to give audiences an insight into all phases of the band’s career, moving through the different eras in spectacular Stones style.

Paul said: “It’s a full show with costume changes, lights and all the rest, but designed to also suit smaller venues such as regional theatres so that we can tour the show to as many people and places as possible. At the end of the day, my job is about playing a role and what better place for that than in a theatre?”
