Singer-songwriter kicks off new year with release of first self produced track

MUSIC TO HER EARS: Singer-songwriter Rebecca-Anna

A BARNARD Castle musician has begun 2022 on the right note by unveiling a new single.
Rebecca Anna Hosey released the track You on New Year’s Eve.
It is the first self-produced track the 21-year-old has released and it is available on streaming services.
Ms Hosey is currently in her final year at New College Durham, where she is studying a foundation degree specialising in roots and popular music.
Her new release capped a busy 12 months which saw her combine her studies with live performances, both as a solo artist and as part of Little Bigs Acoustic Duo, in which she has teamed up with fellow music student Peter Lawson.
It was while they were performing in Saltburn late last year that Ms Hosey met one of her music heroes – X-Factor star James Arthur, who visited the venue with friends and stayed to watch the duo’s set.
Earlier in the autumn, the duo headlined their first gig in Teesdale – a performance at Middleton-in-Teesdale Sports and Social Club.
Ms Hosey is no stranger to the stage in Teesdale, having performed alongside the likes of New-York singer-songwriter Ben Arthur at Club Cotherstone and Dean Owens at the Mickleton R&B Club while still in her early teens.
You was co-written with Mr Lawson and mastered at Habourmaster Productions in South Shields.
To hear it, search for Rebecca-Anna on Spotify and Apple Music. For more information about the musician, search for Rebecca-Anna music on Facebook.
