Sari’s long, hard journey brings her to Mickleton

MICKLETON BOUND: Sari Schorr will play in the village as part of a UK tour

BLUES rock fans across the dale are in for a treat when New Yorker Sari Schorr headlines Mickleton Live in September as part of a UK tour promoting the imminent release of her second album.

Never Say Never, a follow-up to 2016’s debut A Force of Nature, is released on October 5, but tracks from the new album will form part of her Mickleton set list when she plays the village hall on Saturday, September 15.

With a band featuring ex-King King keyboard player Bob Fridzema, Ash Wilson on guitar, Mat beadle on bass and Roy Martin on drums, the album was recorded live at The Grange Studios in Norfolk and is a culmination of months of work.

Ms Schorr explained: “Over the last 18 months, I have travelled from a loft apartment in New York, lived over a bakery in Bath, a factory in Germany, stayed for a while at a sheep farm in Wales, stopped off in Skegness, a gite in France and finally a barn in Norfolk.

“In each place, I have set down my suitcase full of half written songs, met up with amazing musicians, writers and producers and finished my second album.

“It has been a long, hard journey, full of trials and tribulations, but totally worthwhile.”

In addition to original tracks, she includes a version of the Mick Ralphs-penned Bad Company classic Ready for Love plus the title track, written by former Small Faces and Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan.

Her Mickleton show is part of a ten-date UK tour to promote the album.

“I’m really looking forward to the UK tour,” she said.

“I’ve spent so much time here now, it feels like coming home.

“It will be the first time we’re unveiling songs from the new album and that will be exciting. We’ll sprinkle in a few favourites from A Force of Nature as well.”

Tickets for the Mickleton Live gig are on sale priced £15 in advance or £17 on the night. For more details, go to www.mickletonlive.uk and for more on the artist, see www.sarischorr.com
