AN upper dale photographer’s work has gone on display ahead of the launch of his debut photo-book next month.

People can view wildlife and landscape photographer Martin Roger’s latest work at an exhibition at Cross Lane Organic Farm Shop, along the A66, for the entire month of March.

Photographs include some of the dale’s most iconic spots, such as High Force in full spate, as well as shots of local flora and fauna.

It is the second year on the trot that his worked can be viewed at the venue.

The former think tank policy advisor said: “I got a lot of good feedback [from last year’s exhibition], but it is nice to have your work on display.”

Of his favourite spots in the dale, the 69-year-old said: “The higher up the dale the more I like it. I like the wild and the rivers.

“I probably spend most of my time along the rivers, but I try to get around the whole area.”

Many of his most impressive works are to be included in a 60-page photo-book, entitled Essential Teesdale, which will be published in April.

A lot of Mr Rogers’ work has been used by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership on their branded products, and his postcards and greeting cards are also popular at various outlets in Teesdale.
