Panto returns to Cotherstone… oh, yes it does

BEHIND YOU... The Teesdale Players are planning this year's panto

TEESDALE Players will return to the stage this winter – but catch them quickly.
In a run of just three nights, the popular amateur dramatic group will take to the stage at Cotherstone Village Hall. A pantomime performance of the children’s classic Hansel and Gretel will be performed on the evenings of the December 1, 2 and 3, at 7.30 pm with a Saturday matinee performance at 2pm.
All the regular favourites will tread the boards and forget their lines including the unforgettable Stephen Lamb as Ma Kipling, the local legend Peter Anderson as Seargent Scone and the up-and coming star Tom Metcalfe as Jimmy Dodger.

The title roles of Hansel and Gretel will be played by Teesdale School girls Alice Whiting and Emily Lamb.

One of the organisers, Wayne Mann, said: “Rehearsals have already started – forgetting lines takes lots of practice.”

A few minor roles remain to be filled and the players are desperately seeking behind the scenes help with costumes, make up and most importantly a prompt.
