ORGANISERS of Teesdale Operatic Society’s inaugural production have launched an urgent appeal for more men to join the cast.
The group will stage Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at The Witham, in Barnard Castle, in early December.
And while rehearsals for the popular musical are well under way director Dawn Trevor said the search was continuing for the final cast members.
“Joseph is a great show for the whole family due to its ensemble nature, but it does give us the age old am-dram problem – not enough men,” she said.
“We are incredibly lucky to have an outstanding array of men already, including Scott Edwards, head of drama at Barnard Castle School, in the role of Joseph, but we still need three men for the roles of the brothers.
“We are looking for men aged 14-plus who can hold a tune and move in time to the music. The rest we can teach.”
Rehearsals are Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings in Barnard Castle. Anyone interested should contact Ms Trevor by email info@teesdaleoperatic society.co.uk or search for Teesdale Operatic Society on social media.
Details are also available on the group’s website www.teesdaleos.co.uk.
The society will take to the stage with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for three nights, December 9-11.
Tickets are on sale from The Witham box office on 01833 631107 or online at thewitham.org.uk.
