Nish warms up for UK tour with Barney gigs

ONE of the most recognisable faces from TV satire and comedy will perform two shows in Barnard Castle next month.
Nish Kumar, double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, panel show regular, and host of The Mash Report is travelling north to give audiences a taste of his new material on Friday and Saturday, November 19 and 20, at The Witham.
The shows form part of his preparation for a mammoth UK tour next year.
Since beginning his comedy career in 2006, he has achieved global success on the stand-up circuit, with his shows receiving huge recognition from industry and fans alike.
He is rated one of The Guardian newspaper’s Top 50 Comedians of the 21st Century.
He has also hosted BBC Radio 4 Extra’s topical comedy show Newsjack. A regular on TV screens, he has also been seen on Live at the Apollo, Taskmaster, Netflix’s Comedians of the World, QI, Conan and many more.
Promoter Peter Dixon, of Funny Way To Be Comedy said: “I’ve known Nish for many years and we’ve tried several times to arrange for him to visit Barnard Castle, but until now we’ve not managed to because of his hectic diary. Nish was keen to keep ticket prices for the work in progress shows as economical as was possible and we’ve managed to do that as the £8 ticket price is incredible value to see such a talented performer.
“We initially released tickets for the Saturday show and that is pretty much sold out, but we currently have good availability for the Friday night although we do expect it to sell out before the show.”
Tickets are available online only from Funny Way To Be Comedy at www.funnyway tobe.com.
