Morris dancers will mark 30th anniversary

EVEN PLANNED: Blacksheep Morris Dancers

Blacksheep Morris Dancers

AFTER a busy summer Blacksheep Morris Dancers are well into the autumn and winter practice season.

From April to July we danced out at a number of local fetes and festivals including Sedgefield Medieval Fayre, Ovington maypole celebrations and Staindrop Carnival. We also joined other Morris sides dancing in Saltburn, Richmond and Keswick. An enjoyable long weekend was spent in Picardy at a French folk festival where we took part in a dance exchange session and performed at various venues. In 2020 we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary with a Day of Dance on Saturday, May 2, in Barnard Castle.

In the meantime we are holding a dance/exchange workshop on Saturday, November 23, in Winston Village Hall. We are always pleased to welcome new dancers and/or musicians and no previous dancing experience is necessary.
