MasterChef and Bake Off stars head to food festival

HEADLINE ACT: MasterChef's John Torode will be at Bishop Auckland Food Festival

MASTERCHEF judge John Torode will headline Bishop Auckland Food Festival on April 18 and 19.

As well as co-hosting the popular BBC cookery contest he also presents John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen with his wife Lisa Faulkner on ITV.

At Bishop Auckland, he will demonstrate a selection of delicious dishes on the Saturday in the festival’s free cookery marquee.

Also appearing at the festival is Great British Bake Off favourite Jane Beedle, who reached the final of the competition in 2016.

Having appeared at the festival in 2018, she will lead bread making and cupcake decorating workshops for children and adults on both days. She said: “I can’t wait to check out all the fabulous local food producers and I’m more than a little excited to meet one of my food heroes on the Saturday, John Torode.”

Her workshops are ticketed events. Details, times and prices are available online at www.bishopaucklandfoodfes tival.co.uk.
