Funny Way… for a jolly June line-up

KEYS MAN: Alistair McGowan

FUNNY Way To Be Comedy’s summer season continues with three top touring shows heading to The Witham in Barnard Castle during June.

First up is the postponed Piano Show with Alistair McGowan on June 9 in which he combines his talents as impressionist with his piano playing. It’s described as “the classical concert you’ve always wanted to see.”

On June 18 it’s ‘Tried To Start His Own Nickname’, the show of Steve Bugeja, one of comedy’s most exciting rising stars. The co-writer and star of the sitcom “Buffering” on ITV2 has contributed material to Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4) and BBC Radio 4.

Then, on June 24 it’s the turn of Josh Berry, a stand-up comedian, producer, writer, and satirist. In the second half of the show, he takes on the character of Rafe Hubris (BA, OXON) who is, by his own admission “the most significant special advisor working for the Conservative party” . Expect lots of audience interaction as Rafe riffs on some of the major points of the pandemic.

Tickets, priced £22 for Alistair McGowan, £12 for Steve Bugeja and £15 for Josh Berry, are available from funnywaytobe.com or The Witham box office.
