Duo present new shows to Barney comedy fans

Daisy Earl

THE second of four evenings of comedy previewing shows bound for this year’s Edinburgh Festival will be staged at The Witham, in Barnard Castle tonight, Wednesday, July 10.

It features Tom Stade, a veteran of 30 years on the comedy frontline, and Daisy Earl.

Tom Stade, the prolific Canadian, presented a much loved tour show in Barnard Castle earlier this year.

This time, he presents a new show – Tom Stade: You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.

The kids have moved out and it’s the dawn of a new era, which he is embracing with his usual spirit and vigour.

Daisy, meanwhile, woke up on her 30th Birthday deeply dissatisfied.

Why isn’t she thinner, more successful, and blonde? This year is going to be different; get sober, stop crying in public, and for goodness sake, get a boyfriend.

The result is Fairy Elephant, one woman’s attempt to change everything about herself.

Promoter Peter Dixon, of Funny Way To Be Comedy, said: “On this evening we continue our quest to bring Teesdale audiences the most exciting award winning performers who will be at the Edinburgh Festival.

“Their tickets are certain to be among the most sought after as their new shows are highly anticipated among comedy fans.

“To have two of them both on the same bill is a real treat.”

Tickets are £12 and are available now from funnyway tobe.com or The Witham box office on 01833 631107.
