Covid 19: It’s no laughing matter as comedy club attempts to reschedule rather than cancel dates

NEW DATE: The Thinking Drinkers will now raise a glass in Barney next year after their show in April was postponed

COMEDY is taking a back seat during the current crisis – but promoter Peter Dixon says he is trying where possible to postpone and rearrange dates rather than cancel shows.
The next scheduled show was to have been the Thinking Drinkers at The Witham, on April 3.
This has now been put back to March 5, 2021, and tickets remain valid for that performance.
Simon Brodkin’s planned show on April 9 has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 11. Again tickets remain valid.
Mr Dixon said: “In view of advice from the Government, we have been and continue to look at all the steps we need to take manage all of our shows.
“Each show involves lots of different people who are all working to make sense of how it impacts their particular events/tours/ venues/ticketing companies.
“Along with the rest of the comedy industry we are working hard to ensure that shows are postponed rather than cancelled.”
He added: “On a show by show basis, as soon as it is agreed by all parties, ticket holders will be directly contacted straight away. The information will be updated on our Facebook page, on the Facebook event, our ticketing site and our web site, so it is worth keeping an eye on our social channels too. We will also do a weekly round-up with our eNewsletter.
“Throughout all of this, please rest assured the well-being of our customers, partners, artists and the general community is our primary concern.”
