Comedy shows rescheduled due to ongoing Covid restrictions

NEW DATE: The comedy shows planned in Barnard Castle by Jenny Eclair has been re-arranged

THE ongoing lockdown and uncertainty as to when restrictions may be lifted has forced the rescheduling of some comedy shows planned for Barnard Castle.
Jenny Eclair’s entire UK tour, which is heading to 60 venues is being rearranged and her visit to The Witham is now pencilled in for Friday, December 3.
Organised by the Funny Way To Be comedy club, all existing tickets are still valid for the new date and there are a few left.
The show is based around the fact that the comedienne has hit 60 – but, as she points out, is still younger than Madonna.
As well as the change of date for Jenny Eclair’s show, a number of others have also been rescheduled.
Jason Manford’s sell-out show at The Witham has now been put back from June 18 to August 19.
Ben Hart’s planned appearance on May 8 will now take place on January 29 next year
Promoter Peter Dixon said unfortunately the Lucy Beaumont show has been cancelled.
Pete Firman’s Bag of Tricks show, which has been billed as a socially-distanced performance is still planned to go ahead on Sunday, April 18.
Mr Dixon said: “We are finding that some artists are totally rearranging their tours, because their pre-Covid shows need rewriting and reworking
“With the increased uncertainty as to when theatres will open, some tours like Jenny Eclair, Lost Voice Guy and Ben Hart have been put back many months and in some cases over a year. This has been to our benefit with shows like Alistair McGowan’s as we have been subsequently added to the revised tour dates for 2022.
“Shows where it would be difficult to perform with social distancing, like Jason Manford, are generally being postponed to late summer or the autumn. Thinking there was a possibility that socially distanced shows are going to be around for some time, we have organised a few, includinge Pete Firman on April 18 and Gary Delaney on May 22.” For full details of shows and tickets go to www.funnywaytobe.com.
