Club lines up band which appeals to all

LET US ENTERTAIN YOU: Geriatrics and the Pacemakers will perform at the Boldron Pinfold Club

A POPULAR band, that has members which span the generations, is to play at The Pinfold Club, in Boldron, on Saturday (January 18).

Since forming last year, the unusually named Geriatrics and the Pacemakers have attracted quite a following. The five piece band, which has members as young as 15 and as experienced at 71, have entertained crowds at a number of charity events.

The group’s younger members, Ethan Manders and Finlay Hunt, both 15, play lead guitar and bass guitar, with lead vocals provided by Mackenzie Kellett. The “geriatrics” of the group – Anthony “Scouse” Griffiths, 71, and David Harper, 55 – complete the line up. The band has wide appeal playing a diverse range of songs covering hits from George Ezra to Amy Winehouse, Queen, Stereophonics, Guns and Roses as well as Wilson Pickett.

Geriatrics and the Pacemakers are the latest local group to perform at the Pinfold Club as part of their monthly free music nights to shine a spotlight on local talent. The band will be performing from 8pm on Saturday. Doors open at 7pm and entry is free.

Any local performers who would like to be considered for a slot at the club over the next year, should email Derek Harper at derek@pinfold club.co.uk.
