Church gig for Northern Voices

ACCLAIMED CHOIR: Northern Voices have more than 40 members

NORTHERN Voices will perform a concert in Teesdale this month.

The choir, who carry on from the successful Carol Anderson Singers, are to appear at St Mary’s Church, in Gainford, on Saturday, February 8, at 7.30pm. They have more than 40 members including Gainford resident Paul Place.

Vicar Revd Eileen Harrop said: “They sing a mixture of short, sacred pieces by Mozart, Rutter and Vivaldi, as well as songs from the shows, Gershwin and Beatles songs.

“Their musical director is Gillian Sild who has sung with and led many well-known choirs and directed Opera Nova for two years. Her husband is their accompanist. He plays for many professional and semi-professional productions, so we are in for a treat. We’d love to see you.”

Tickets are £7, including coffee or tea, from Sue Taylor on 01325 730379 or Revd Eileen Harrop.

Alternatively, please pay at the door.
