Sophia studied violin, piano and voice from the age of five, and gained many awards in Ukraine.

In July 2017, the family came to the UK and they now live in Darlington.

They will be joined by British musicians Jill Russell and Penny Jones.

The programme includes pieces by Brahms and Puccini as well as Vivaldi’s short violin concerto Summer, well-known tunes from films and musicals together with folk dances from several European countries.

No reservations or bookings are required, but donations will be gratefully received for Church funds and Christian Aid.

Robert Elliot, the event’s organiser, said: “This is an event not to be missed.

“These musicians played to great acclaim at St Mary’s Church last year. We look forward to welcoming all music lovers on Saturday evening.”
