A magic night in store when Ben comes to Barnard Castle in November

BARNEY BOUND: Ben Hart

COMEDY fans were hit for six last week with the cancellation of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Many of the festival’s performers bring their shows to the dale once they have performed north of the border.
Funny Way To Be Comedy promoter Peter Dixon said he hoped the fringe’s cancellation would not have a direct impact on any of the club’s shows. He added: “It certainly means that the livelihood of comedians and the normal calendar for developing new shows and touring them has been greatly impacted.
“We have been continuing the business of ensuring that our comedy shows are moved to a time when we currently hope it will be safe for them to take place.
“One of our biggest shows is with Britain’s Got Talent magician Ben Hart at The Witham, in Barnard Castle. Ben’s show has been postponed from the May 15 to October 21.”
The show with Lee Kyle planned McNabs Books, in Market Place, Barnard Castle, will now take place on Thursday, October 15.
Other rearranged dates include Simon Brodkin, at The Witham, which is now on November 11, and the Thinking Drinkers, who will call in at The Witham on March 5 next year.
Tickets remain valid for the new dates but anyone not able to attend can have a refund. See www.funnywaytobe .com for details.
