FROM a record 16 entrants for the 2019/2020 winter knock-out tournament at the Teesdale Wanderers Snooker Club, eight players took part in the finals at the club’s premises in Birch Road on Sunday, March 1.

After four close frames the score was two frames each taking the players into a decider.

As with the previous frames this was neck and neck all the way until Charles seized the opportunity to finish the frame and match by taking the last few colours.

Adam Staley took the Plate with a 2-0 win against Luke Stephenson, whilst his son Jonathan won 2-1 in the flight against Josh Normanton.

Richard Batchelor triumphed against wife Jane by winning the second flight.

Charles Blake also won the highest break prize with a break of 57 points.

The club’s competitions are structured to give a great experience to players of all abilities, beginners to the more experienced.

A one day tournament will be held before the summer knock-out gets under way. To find out how you could join in these fun competitions email to the secretary teesdalewanderers@gmail. co.uk.
