SCHOOL children in France are being given a virtual tour of a rural primary in Teesdale.
Bowes Hutchinson’s primary pupils Darcy and Grace used iPads to make a film of their school, complete with music. It was taken to France by headteacher Chris Matthewman who went to Amiens as part of a bid to build on County Durham’s international education links.
“We are meeting up with councillors and local schools to develop partnerships between the schools,” she said before the visit. “I’m taking a memory stick with lots of things on including the video of our school.”
Children at Cotherstone School, which is linked to Bowes, have also put together a presentation of The Very Hungry Caterpillar in French and others have made a video clip of pupils talking about themselves in the language.
Darcy and Grace said they hoped people in France would enjoy seeing their video tour.
“I think they will think it’s a really good school,” said Grace.
