A WAY forward has been found to make sure Barnard Castle’s 1940s weekend goes from strength to strength.
This year’s festival, which was put on by the town council, was described as a success but a meeting was called to find a way of sharing the workload after town councillors complained it was too much for them to do on their own.
This took place on September 17 when it was decided that Eggleston resident Andrew Nicholson would be the project manager on a voluntary basis. The group, made up of volunteers and town councillors, will meet regularly and feed back to the town council.
Next year’s event will be June 19 to 21. Plans are already being drawn up to mark the 25th anniversary of Teesdale Aviation Day, which takes place on the Friday.
