THE Jewish bath house comes to Bowes in this big-hearted show about tradition and belonging.
Set in East London’s last remaining bath house, writer and performer Nick Cassenbaum brings his show Bubble Schmeisis to Bowes and Gilmonby Village Hall on Thursday, October 17.
He will be joined among the steam by klezmer musicians, Josh Middleton and Daniel Gouly.
A hit at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016, the show is full of intimate and personal true stories about identity and home as it schlepps through the memories and milestones of Nick’s life, while keeping the spirit of the steam baths alive.
Bubble Schmeisis gives an up-close insight into a community that is fading and a folk history of a once vibrant culture.
It is touring to Bowes as part of Highlights Rural Touring Scheme’s autumn programme.
Doors open at 7pm with showtime at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £10, £9 concs and £5 students.
