Pony club enjoy superb conditions for annual hunter trial

ALL SMILES: Left

THE Zetland Hunt Pony Club hosted its Annual Hunter Trial on Sunday, June 23, at Stapleton Manor, Darlington with kind permission from Mr & Mrs D.A.J Bartlett.

Organised by Andrea Bartlett, ZHPC DC and many volunteers, the day was well supported with a good number of entries for the 80cm, 80cm pairs, 90cm and 1m courses designed by Moray Nicholson.

The ground conditions were superb allowing competitors to enjoy the challenging array of xc jumps over the grounds of Stapleton Manor including some technical combinations near the lake side, with the action captured by Paul Dobson Photography.

The event was kindly sponsored by many local businesses and generous prizes were on offer. Each winner was awarded a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Muscari Floristry accompanied with rosettes sponsored by GoRoam.com made by Jeanette Crompton. Competitors had the opportunity to learn more about local equine services with discounted show offers from event trade stands Emily Berry Mobile Equine Weighbridge, Vetcling and Cleveland and North Yorkshire Theraplate.

Spectators enjoyed watching the high level of horsemanship as competitors rode to gain a qualification for the Eland Lodge National Hunter Trial in September.

The Zetland Hunt Pony Club would like to thank everyone who helped make the day a success and look forward to next year’s competition.
