THE stage version of the classic film The Full Monty comes to the region next week.
The Full Monty is one of the most acclaimed British films of all time and the stage play has become one of the most acclaimed theatrical productions.
For those unfamiliar with the plot, it follows six out-of-work, impoverished steelworkers from Sheffield with nothing to lose.
They come up with idea of becoming the North’s version of the Chippendales, baring all in an effort to raise a few quid.
Based on film and adapted for the stage by Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy, the hilarious and heartfelt production has received standing ovations every night and features the iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.
For this show, the cast is being led by Gary Lucy – well known as Luke Morgan in Hollyoaks, Danny Pennant in EastEnders, DS Will Fletcher in The Bill, Kyle Pascoe in Footballer’s Wives and a winner of Dancing on Ice.
He plays as Gaz in the role made famous Robert Carlyle.
Also on stage will be Andrew Dunn, best known as Tony in Dinnerladies and for his regular appearances playing Alastair Campbell on Bremner, Bird and Fortune, as Gerald; Louis Emerick (Norman the Doorman in Benidorm, Mick Johnson in Brookside and soon to be seen as Mike in Coronation Street) as Horse; Joe Gill, alias Finn Barton in Emmerdale, as Lomper; Kai Owen (Rhys in Torchwood and Pete in Hollyoaks) as Dave and James Redmond (Finn in Hollyoaks and Abs Denham in Casualty).
