Teesdale AC
ELEVEN club members took part in the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k which is run through the centre of the city.
More than 8,000 runners took part and first back for Teesdale AC was Alan Bray in a time of 48.01mins.
He was followed home by Marcus Weaver, 49.20, Barbara Crawley, 52.47, Judith Rodwell, 54.08, Colin Proudfoot, 59.29, Katie Mottershead, 55.34, Fiona Bainbridge, 59.25, Caroline Hamilton, 60.23, Katy Smith, 63.44, Rachel Clark, 64.42 and Irene Sutherland, 66.07.
Joanne Close also ran but her time was unfortunately unavailable.
Katy Smith and Rachel Clark were both completing their first 10k races, so well done to them.
Club runners and supporters then retired to the Guy Fawkes Inn, at Knaresborough, for a well earned meal and refreshments.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Steve Moss and Caroline Moss took part in the Gibside Fruit Bowl Trail Race which is run on good tracks, paths and estate roads of Gibside and is about seven miles long.
Steve finished in 59.43mins and Caroline in 84.33.
Evenwood Road Runners
EVENWOOD Road Runners were well represented at the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k.
The run starting in the city centre and running out along Kirkstall road before turning at the abbey and running back into Leeds finishing infront of the town hall.
Nine Evenwood runners recorded new personnel best times for a 10k. Keith Hatton ran sub-50 minutes for the first time to finish in 49.12.
Other times were: Ian Sowerby 54.27, Alex Coughtrey 57.05, Beth Foster 59.56, Jim Morrell 61.26, Marie Chamberlain 65.24, Kim Sugden 66.28 and Katie MacFarlane 73.10 – all running personal best times.
Other Evenwood Road Runners times were Gary Atkinson 38.20, Shaun Thompson 43.34, Rick Bennett 44.04, Beth Cummins 49.38, Alan Walker 50.33, Jack Thompson 51.36, Joanne Foster 55.32, Helen Hitchen 59.52, Jamie Cummins 59.54, Gail Richards 61.37, Phil Henry 65.16, Nicola Finch 65.40, John Tully 66.16 and Chris Grantham 68.17.
