A THREE-piece band from Lancashire is preparing to hit the stage in Teesdale for the first time. Hailing form the Rossendale Valley, Pie have been making music together for the past 15 years.
Music lovers can look forward to hearing a selection of their contemporary tunes at The Teesdale Hotel, Middleton-in-Teesdale on Sunday, June 3. The band has appeared at various and festivals across the country including two appearances at the Great British Folk Weekend. Singer and songwriter Boo Long is a stalwart of East Lancashire’s vibrant music scene. His songs reflect the landscape of the Lancashire Pennines and some of the characters he has met.
Drummer Linsday Riley has played in many bands notably Screech Rock who featured at many alternative and free festivals in the 1980s and 90s. He has also toured with the legendary space rockers Hawkwind.
Virtuoso lead guitarist Brian Eastwood also produces sought after handmade guitars, supplying members of The Animals, Motorhead, Showaddywaddy and to Peter Hook of New Order.
Mick Carr, of Hairy Dog Promotions, which is organising the gig, said: “I am really pleased that Pie are coming to Teesdale. People are in for a real treat. What could be better on a Sunday afternoon than a nice pint or two and some great live music? A big thanks to Dave at The Teesdale Hotel for having them on.” Music starts at 4pm. Entry is free.
